Severn Partnership has implemented modern Laser Scanning techniques to provide a variety of geo-spatial solutions in tunnel environments. The flexibility of a 3-dimensional point cloud model permits cross section generation, allowing for both safe vehicle clearance profile analysis and comparison of pre-built and as-built tunnel designs.

The application of Laser Scanning point cloud data is virtually limited to the imagination of the user in tunnel related environments. Data can be applied to solve lighting issues and to monitor tunnel ceilings for weaknesses. Visualisations and fly-through simulations can be used as marketing tools or even to secure that desired funding for future projects.
