Gas and Water Pipline Surveys

For pipeline surveys, we use our range of static and RTK GPS equipment to gather survey data and constrain survey control over long distances. We also have a track record of collaborating with University College London (UCL) specifically for such applications to devise grid projections following trend lines. These projections allow engineers to work confidently without the worry of scale factor derived problems.

On pipeline mapping surveys, our teams are equipped wih the latest survey technology (GPS, total stationsand 3Dlaserscanners) to complete their remits quickly and efficiently.

We can provide:
  • Pipeline Topographical surveys
  • Cross and long sections
  • Long thin surveys for way leave / easements
  • Aerial photogrammetry for large areas and feasibility studies
  • Monitoring and deformation surveys (UTX drilling)
  • Setting out pipeline routes
  • As-Built surveys as pipes are laid down
  • Topographical Strip surveys
  • Crossing point surveys
  • Pipe weld locations

We have developed techniques and used them successfully for remotely monitoring deformation in 3D, real time while pipelines are drilled underneath roads, buildings or railways. On the railways, this real time monitoring allows trains to carry on running without costly stoppages or recourse to night working.

We can resource staff for hourly, daily, weekly or even 24 hour shift work on monitoring projects.

We recognise that with drilling operations, the critical expense is having the drill on site, so we are used to working to our clients’ schedule.
